A catechist is a person of faith who leads others in understanding the teachings of the Catholic Church. As a model of God's love, catechists are vital ministers in our parish collaborative. They help our children and adults grow in faith to promote a deeper conversion of heart and mind to God.
Most catechists work with our grade school, middle school and high school faith formation students. We currently use the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies curriculum for grades 1-6, the Altaration for the middle school students, and the Chosen program for our Confirmation classes. All of these curriculums come with excellent teaching manuals and educational materials. In addition, ongoing support and assistance is offered throughout the year by our team of Faith Formation directors.
If you would like additional information about being a catechist for grades 1-6, please contact Maggie Hoagland, Director of Faith Formation for Children at [email protected] or call 508-695-0054. If you are interested in being a Catechist at the middle school or high school level, contact Brian Sousa at 508-384-7922 or [email protected].
